Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have boldness to enter the sanctuary through the blood of Jesus, he has inaugurated for us a new and living way through the curtain (that is, through his flesh) and since we have a great high priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water. Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, since he who promised is faithful. And let us watch out for one another to provoke love and good works.

While typical youth group trips and events are fun and not wrong in and of themselves, this is not our main goal as a ministry. We don't want to just look like a secular program with God thrown in when convenient. Rather, it is our desire to strive to help our students grow (draw near to God and go far for Him), each week, in the knowledge of Jesus and the Gospel He brings and as well, to be moved to go out into our schools, communities, and friend groups to make this good news known.
Mission Statement: First Students exist to equip students through the areas of fellowship, discipleship, worship, ministry, and evangelism in order that they might be built up as followers of Christ. Through the mission statement, the vision of First Students is ultimately accomplished. Vision Statement: First Students will seek to teach students the Word of God so that: they will come to love the Lord with all their heart, with all their soul and with all their mind; they will come to love people as they love themselves; they will go and serve the Lord and share the Gospel in their community, their state, their country, and across the world. |

weekly/monthly events
Student Worship is every Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Youth Room (3rd floor of the Taylor building). You can show up early to hangout and play some video games, pool, foosball, ping pong, or the FBC original Jungle Pong! Before worship, we usually play a game and then sing and study God's Word together.
Student Bible Drill: On Wednesday's at 5:30 in the Winter/Spring months, our students memorize Scripture and practice for the annual Bible drill competitions across the state of Mississippi.
Student Leadership Team: Every summer, we have students complete an application and come on to serve on our student leadership team. They meet monthly for discipleship, help to organize and plan activities, and be servant leaders in our group.
Student Praise Band: Our student worship gatherings are led in song by our student praise band. These students practice weekly and put in tremendous work to lead us in worship every week. They practice at 5:00pm on Wednesday afternoons.
